Update
Things are going well for me thus far. I have started looking into writing with more rhymes and a smoother flow (in credit to some of the poets from the meetings), so we'll see what I come up with Farewell,

AftermathThe graveyard beckons all to finally come to rest within its iron-wrought borders. But, one comes early, his conscience begging him to sink beneath the loam. Alas, it is not his time, although it should be. A firefly passes before him, casting a glow upon the letters cut into the rock. Her name appears, fading to blackness as the light wanders on.Aftermath
Another soon comes, revealing tears that wet the eyes. Silent and fast do they fall, Splashing upon the ground as did her blood When it coated the shards of glass upon the street.

Perfection in the skyAs I gaze upon the sliver of white gold, hanging as if weightless in the raven-hued midnight sky, what stories might we tell, were we to set foot upon the burnished silver sands that indeed would gleam with the brightness of a thousand droplets of molten metal upon the ground. What then would be left of an existence for any of us, to have looked upon such a sight and not died from amazement?Perfection in the sky
What could you say, if the sliver in the sky did shatter, raining down shards of perfection upon the blue orb we call our own. That perfection might come to our own tarnished sapphire, it is a beautiful thing indeed.
